The Expiation of Offences Act 1996 (the Act), the Road Traffic Act (1961) and Australian Road Rules include provisions that allow an expiation notice to be withdrawn if certain circumstances exist, or the offence could be considered trifling by the Act. For further information refer to the Parking Expiation Review Guidelines.

If you answer NO to the relevant questions listed below it is very likely that the Expiation Notice will NOT be withdrawn upon review.
Were you directed to park or stop in the detected location by an Officer of South Australia Police? *
I am not the owner of the vehicle OR was not the driver at the time of the offence. *
The vehicle was parked or stopped in an illegal manner as a result of a mechanical failure or accident which prevented the vehicle being moved to a legal parking space. *
The vehicle was parked or stopped in an illegal manner as a result of a medical emergency. *
I am a Permit Holder (Disability, Residential Parking or Other Permit). *
The expiation notice contains incorrect information such as date, time or location. *
Were the signs or road markings relevant to this offence totally obscured or not erected in accordance with Australian Standards or Australian Road Rules? *
Were there compelling humanitarian or safety reasons, or other reasons, for the conduct that resulted in the alleged offence occurring or was the offence trifling for some other reason? *

2A Include documented evidence to support your statement. OR;
2B A Statutory Declaration Parking Expiation sworn and witnessed before a Justice of the Peace.
